“The Fools Who Dream”

“The Fools Who Dream” – Group exhibition curated by Melania Fusaro and Federica Guida
A city at dusk.
Lights that feel like promises.
A piano plays in an almost empty room. Someone rehearses, makes a mistake, begins again.
It is within this suspended space that The Fools Who Dream takes shape—a group exhibition bringing together twenty international artists around the figure of the contemporary dreamer.
The title overturns the notion of “madness” as deviation and restores it to its generative dimension: the courage to imagine before it is legitimate to do so. The dreamer is not someone who withdraws from reality, but someone who chooses to move through it while keeping their vision intact.
Dreaming is easy as long as the stars remain distant. What is more difficult is staying when the stage goes dark, when results are not immediate, when the echo of failure is louder than applause. The fools who dream do not chase an illusion: they cultivate a possibility. They persist. They try again. They rewrite.
Through painting, photography, installation, and hybrid languages, the exhibition unfolds a narrative that oscillates between vulnerability and determination. The works do not celebrate the dream as escape, but as process: attempt, fall, discipline, renewal.
The moon, the central symbol of the guiding image, does not dissolve the darkness but makes it legible. It is a luminous threshold within the nocturnal landscape: a presence that orients, a silent measure of perseverance.
In a time that privileges the speed of results, The Fools Who Dream restores value to continuity, dedication, and fidelity to a vision. It reflects on the responsibility of imagination and its capacity to shape reality.
Curatorial Statement:
“We sought to explore the figure of the dreamer as an active condition, not a romantic one. The ‘fool’ is the one who chooses to remain within the process, to expose themselves to error, to continue creating even when the response is not immediate.
For us, dreaming is not escapism but construction: it requires discipline, attentiveness, and courage.
This exhibition is dedicated to those who persevere, who rewrite, who transform fragility into direction.”
