“It is a powerful story, an intense narrative that of Matteo Nocchi, immersing us among faces and bodies shaped by a rapid, intentionally elusive touch. These are authentic portraits, as they seem to offer an unfiltered vision of the human body and soul. Slightly distorted lines and ‘selective’ color give rise to a painting that moves beyond objective reality to penetrate the deepest essence of these subjects, whom Nocchi frames and harmonizes with geometric elements, never depicting them in their entirety.”

One may choose to “make Art” as an evolutionary path through its cathartic dimension, and through color, succeed in expressing—both to oneself and to others—the silent or underlying aspects of one’s inner world.
Colors speak to us… Through a non-verbal, intimate, almost secret language, they convey emotions, memories, and perceptions—shared yet unique for each of us.
In this cycle of paintings, I chose to work with a circular form set against a gold-painted background; its light is precious.
