“BLUE BAROQUE” Piero Campanini

Darwin and the Creator: two stories, one single wonder.

The artistic project Blue Baroque is born from questions as ancient as humanity itself: where do we come from? what force generated life? what language can tell the mystery?
Through his works, Piero Campanini embarks on a journey to the origins of existence and its deepest symbols, a personal quest that brings myth, spirituality and science into dialogue. The great narratives of Genesis and mythology, set against Charles Darwin’s theory of natural selection, redefine the way we understand evolution. These are seemingly distant visions, yet united by the same goal: to give form to the inexplicable.
Campanini’s works place themselves within this confrontation, interweaving faith and science. The artist moves beyond the logic of conflict and proposes a broader vision, in which knowledge and imagination coexist.
In this sense, the project ideally engages with the tradition of Baroque art history, where emotion draws us in and wonder reveals.
The chromatic choice is an integral part of this narrative: blue, the colour of depth and spirituality, merges with orange, a symbol of energy and transformation. From this emerges a vibrant and dynamic figurative language, capable of evoking a dimension that is at once aesthetic and metaphysical — one in which imagination is not an escape from reality, but another way of understanding it.
Blue Baroque offers no definitive answers, but opens a space of wonder: a place where science and myth, rather than excluding each other, are reflected in one another, like two different stories of the same inexhaustible beauty.
