Dual Exhibition: Dialogues in Contemporary Art & Memory

The gallery is pleased to present a stimulating dual exhibition that explores the contemporary art landscape through two complementary and profound perspectives.

The journey opens with a sweeping group exhibition curated by Patricia Cancelo, bringing together a carefully selected group of contemporary artists. Through distinct styles, techniques, and artistic languages, the works offer a rich and multifaceted vision of today’s creative scene. Each artist presents a unique perspective, rooted in a strong personal identity and a singular way of interpreting the world around us. The selection pairs emerging talents with promising international trajectories alongside figures with established experience, whose works have been exhibited in galleries, art fairs, and cultural projects worldwide. This international dimension highlights the artists’ ability to connect with diverse audiences, continually enriching their artistic language through new experiences and environments.

In dialogue with the group exhibition, the space hosts a solo show by artist SOHI, whose work is deeply rooted in memory. Born in Iran and raised in Denmark, the artist has lived between different cultures and worldviews—experiences that profoundly shape her approach to painting. After years of predominantly abstract research, SOHI felt an increasing need to integrate people and fragments of her past into her canvases, not to recreate memories exactly as they happened, but to explore how they persist within us.
The eight paintings presented draw inspiration from childhood, family, relationships, and ordinary moments that accompany us for a lifetime, moving within that suspended space between what we remember and what we feel. Through an intuitive process defined by simplified figures, muted colors, unexpected contrasts, and areas of silence, the artist strips away details to let the paintings exist somewhere between reality and imagination, leaving ample room for the viewer’s curiosity and emotion.

Two distinct yet complementary gazes that, uniting talent, research, and artistic evolution, offer visitors an intense journey through the multiple voices of contemporary art.
