NADIA GIACOMINI and ESKANDAR Dual Art Exhibition

Dual exhibition N.GIACOMINI & ESKANDAR opening on Tuesday 27 May from 6.30 PM

Nadia Giacomini – Colour as the Garment of Emotion
In this new phase of her artistic journey, Nadia Giacomini fully leaves behind figuration to embrace an abstract, emotional, and deeply instinctive form of painting. Landscapes, once still recognizable, dissolve into dense, vibrant colour fields—like magnified details transformed into pure visual sensations: a stroke of sky, an echo of forest, a distant wave.

Using ancient techniques such as egg tempera alongside pigments, oils, and watercolours, the artist builds her works in layers, overlapping colour as emotions layer over time. Her impressionist heritage is evident in the chromatic contrasts and freedom of gesture, yet figuration gives way to pure abstraction. The landscape is no longer described but evoked: fragments of memory emerging on the canvas as emotional impressions, inner reinterpretations of reality.

Giacomini’s work becomes a wordless narrative—a painting that does not depict, but communicates. Colour becomes breath, atmosphere, memory: the very garment of emotion, recognisable and resonant to each viewer.

Eskandar – The Animal Sculptor
Born in Turin and now based in the French countryside of Lot-et-Garonne, Eskandar is an animal-focused artist who has made zoological sculpture his expressive mission. With an academic background in Conservation of Cultural Heritage from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and extensive experience as a fresco painter and ornamental plasterer, he brings extraordinary attention to form, material, and detail in his work.

In 2002, together with his wife, he founded the PERITAS studio, dedicated to canine sculpture—a technically and artistically demanding field due to the morphological diversity of dog breeds. His work is driven by a deep sensitivity toward the animal world, nurtured since childhood through a visceral love of mammals, birds, and reptiles, along with a scientific interest in their classification.

His sculptures are rooted in a figurative tradition drawing from the Renaissance and Baroque—artistic periods that deeply shaped his aesthetic. The result is a body of work that combines anatomical precision with refined expressive research.
