The two-person exhibition “Attraverso il Nero / Recent Works” brings together two distinct yet surprisingly complementary artistic paths: on one side, the deep and radical investigation by Isaia Antonaci; on the other, the analytical and imaginative gaze of Lucio Forte.

With “Attraverso il Nero”, Isaia Antonaci explores gesture as an existential affirmation. His black canvases, worked to the edge of transparency, are not voids but vibrant surfaces, traversed by white marks and cuts that allow light to filter through. The material consumes itself and opens up, turning black into a space for listening, presence, and revelation. The fluorescent marks on paper—explosive and instinctive—express gesture as a visual detonation, suspended between tension and release. Recurring “X” symbols become signs of negation and opposition, silent declarations of dissent. In every work, gesture is not decoration, but trace, action, a body asserting itself in space.

Alongside this material intensity unfolds the vision of Lucio Forte, presented under the title “Recent Works”. Around thirty pieces—ranging from oil paintings and watercolors to ink drawings and mixed media—compose a journey through real and imagined urban landscapes: Milan, New York, Boston, as well as historical architecture and science fiction-inspired subjects. His cities are not just depictions, but mental architectures. The ink drawings on Fabriano paper, mostly in black and white, reveal a rigorous and poetic graphic language. Titles such as Segesta Temple, Palladio, Frederick Rihel, or Light House reflect the breadth of his vision, while a small Bestiarium introduces a more symbolic and fantastical register.

Two distinct paths, two visual grammars—one physical, the other structural—meet in the exhibition space. “Attraverso il Nero / Recent Works” is a dialogue between light and darkness, gesture and structure, instinct and vision. A shared space where painting becomes action, line becomes narrative, and art reaffirms itself as a form of resistance, inquiry, and possibility.
